This mission group responds both locally and across the country to aid in early response, recovery, and rebuilding efforts. While we welcome anyone who is willing to serve in mission, due to the nature of the outreach, volunteers must be 18 or older to participate. Some disaster response trips (ERT) requires prior certification; others provide onsite training.

Backpacks for Hunger
Our Backpack Ministry partners with Indianola Informal K-8th school, Clinton Elementary and Valleyview Elementary to help support students and families with needed food for the weekends. Currently we are packing 75 bags of food weekly. This is a mission opportunity for families and people of all ages.
Here is an UPDATED LIST of the food we are collecting: Peanut butter (16 oz. plastic jars), spaghettios and other canned pasta (pop top cans), mac and cheese, ramen noodles, chicken noodle soup, alphabet vegetable soup, granola or cereal bars, fruit snacks, shelf stable yogurt squeeze packs, fruit cups, oatmeal, cheese and peanut butter crackers.
Volunteers are needed every Thursday at 3:00 PM to help fill bags with food. We also need volunteers to deliver the bags by noon on Friday at Indianola K-8 School. We ask that you include these families in your prayers.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, email Mariann Brush at mbrush@north-broadway.org.
Blessing Boxes are outdoor, publicly located cabinets that allow people to anonymously donate items to bless others in need. It’s an effort to reach out and connect to our community, and to include everyone! We are excited for this new ministry in sharing blessings with each other through not only food and hygiene items, but also with creating a prayer box and an information center to connect others to needed services.
The motto of a Blessing Box is, “Take what you need. Leave what you can. But above all, be blessed.”

A non-profit ministry located in the Short North Church at 25 W. 5th Ave, Columbus. The NLCO serves its clients in three areas: a health care clinic on Sunday morning, breakfast ministry on Sunday, and a clothing room ministry open on Sunday and Wednesday mornings. It takes a lot of volunteers to make this ministry a success, so email Rev. Wendy Hansen-Smith for more information about volunteering or making a donation.
