A Series of Worship Experiences designed for Spiritual Reflection on the themes of Advent
Sunday December 1, 6:30 p.m., Advent Taizé Service-This is a quiet candlelight chapel service with sung and instrumental music from the Taizé tradition framing scripture readings, prayers and silence. The theme of this service is the prophetic call for justice and hope.
Sunday December 8, 6:30 p.m., Advent Lessons and Carols-A worship service featuring the reading of the Lessons, North Broadway choirs, instruments, organ, songs, and Carols of the season. A dessert reception provided by the youths of the church follows the service.
Sunday December 15, 6:30 p.m. Advent Prayer Labyrinth-A service of prayer and meditation inviting persons to walk the labyrinth and ponder the journey of Mary and Joseph toward Bethlehem and the birthing of the Christ child.
Sunday December 22, 6:30 p.m., Longest Night Vespers-A solemn chapel service especially appropriate for those who are grieving or who, for various reasons, find the season to be a time of sadness. Prayer, meditation, music and candle lighting in memory of loved ones who are missed at Christmas.
