Holy Communion is celebrated at both worship services on the first Sunday of each month. The communion table is an open table, and all are welcome to participate. We share communion by receiving a broken piece of bread and dipping it into the cup of grape juice. (We do not use alcohol containing communion wine.) The children from Kid’s Worship join us in the sanctuary for Holy Communion and receive the elements as a sign of Jesus love for them.
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated whenever parents desire to present their children for baptism or whenever adults who have not been baptized desire to make a commitment to Christian faith. Baptisms are arranged through meetings with one of the pastors.
Several parking spaces are reserved in the parking lot off of E. North Broadway for visitors. Enter the church through the door underneath the stained glass “Good Shepherd” window and turn left. Through the second set of doors you will walk up a ramp, where you will be greeted and find a small “welcome center.” The hospitality volunteers will be happy to help you find your way from there.
To the left is the “gathering area” where coat racks are located. Coffee is always available there throughout Sunday morning and you will often find displays related to particular ministries. The sanctuary and chapel are both adjacent to the gathering area. As you enter the sanctuary, an usher will provide you with a worship bulletin.
You may sit wherever you feel comfortable. You will find hymnals and songbooks underneath the pew in front of you. An attendance registration card is inserted in each week’s worship bulletin, and we encourage visitors and members to fill out a card and pass it to the center aisle where it will be collected by an usher.
