North Broadway United Methodist Church

Worship at North Broadway

  • 8:30 am – a casual worship service with lively congregational singing led by a small choir and talented piano players. There is a special time with the pastor for children’s moments who then are welcome to move to the new nursery/childcare area to play.
  • 9:45 am – Small Groups are available from nursery through adults, there is a place for everyone to learn in fellowship with others.  A casual gathering of friends and neighbors over coffee and conversation occurs in our Gathering Area.
  • 9:45 am- the Source Worship You are invited to the Source for a modern, energetic and connected worship which begins on Sunday, October 22 at 9:45 a.m. The Source Collective will play an eclectic mix of modern worship music, secular sacred, and significantly rocked out hymns. “the Source” is an emerging community that is passionate about relationships, the environment, and service. In response to God’s love for us, we love people and the planet and seek to make a difference in the community. We do this by welcoming and accepting all people as they are and caring for the earth. We believe all of life is connected and we are most alive when we are connected to the Source of Life, which we think best happens in community
  • 11:00 am- a more traditional worship service featuring a variety of music ranging from traditional organ music and hymns to newly composed congregational worship songs. The Adult choir provides a special musical piece each Sunday to enhance worship. There is a special time for children’s moments who are invited up to the altar for a special message from the pastor.
  • 11:00 am- Kid’s Worship. Ages 5 through 3rd grade are invited to gather for their own special time of worship and learning in the chapel located just across the gathering area from the Sanctuary. Festival and special worship services are celebrated throughout the year.

The Sacraments at North Broadway:

Holy Communion is celebrated at both worship services on the first Sunday of each month.  The communion table is an open table, and all are welcome to participate. We share communion by receiving a broken piece of bread and dipping it into the cup of grape juice. (We do not use alcohol containing communion wine.)  The children from Kid’s Worship join us in the sanctuary for Holy Communion and receive the elements as a sign of Jesus love for them.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated whenever parents desire to present their children for baptism or whenever adults who have not been baptized desire to make a commitment to Christian faith. Baptisms are arranged through meetings with one of the pastors.

Several parking spaces are reserved in the parking lot off of E. North Broadway for visitors. Enter the church through the door underneath the stained glass “Good Shepherd” window and turn left. Through the second set of doors you will walk up a ramp, where you will be greeted.  The hospitality ministry team will be happy to help you find your way from there.

To the left is the “gathering area” where the Connect Desk, coffee and coat racks are located. Coffee is always available there throughout Sunday morning and you will often find displays related to particular ministries. The sanctuary and chapel are both adjacent to the gathering area. As you enter the sanctuary, an usher will provide you with a worship bulletin.

You may sit wherever you feel comfortable. You will find hymnals and songbooks underneath the pew in front of you. An attendance registration card is inserted in each week’s worship bulletin, and we encourage guests and members to fill out a card and pass it to the center aisle where it will be collected by an usher.
